With the lighter evenings, snowdrops and daffodils, it looks like spring is finally on the way (it can’t snow at Easter can it?!)
We wish everyone a very happy holiday and hope you have plenty of rest and fun in the holidays and return to school ready for a great summer term.
World Book Day took place on 1st March and was celebrated by our schools with many children dressing up as their favourite book characters. Due to the snow this had to be postponed in some schools but the children enjoyed seeing the fantastic costumes their friends had made. Costumes covered a range of books from Matilda to Harry Potter and the Wizard of Oz to Captain Underpants. Yeadon Westfield Infant School did a book swap and had lots of activities based on books for the children to get involved with during their Golden Time. Their reception class mixed potions from George’s Marvellous Medicine. Book tokens were given out which can be used to get a free World Book Day book or to get £1 off another book in all participating bookshops. Vouchers are valid until 25th March so let’s get reading!
