Exams are done, tests are complete, leavers discos have been danced, leavers plays have been performed, sports days competed in and all our children, families and staff deserve a well earned rest. Have a happy and safe summer holiday. We just need the sun to shine now!
In addition to all the amazing artwork, we were treated to the first ever performance of the newly formed ALPT choir which was made up of children from a number of our schools. They sang Shiny Happy People, Walking on Sunshine and The Greatest Day (which they also signed to) to a large audience of family and friends. Here are the choir members from Rawdon St Peter’s.
The Trust schools visited the exhibition over the two days and took part in a workshop run by the art department of Benton Park School. They worked together to make an animation on the theme of joy from modelling clay. This will be edited over the coming weeks and sent to the schools so the children will be able to see what they made. They really enjoyed taking part in the project. There were also many visitors to the exhibition both from our schools and from the wider community. The church congregation had been able to see the work over the weekend and some returned in the week to spend longer looking at it. The artwork filled the church and foyers. Photos of some of the work have been displayed in earlier posts.
St Oswald’s produced a large display which was set up in the church foyer. This is just part of it.
Rufford Park Primary were inspired by different artists and how we can get joy from nature.
Guiseley School looked at dance and movement in their work and produced some fantastic work with light.
This year the art exhibition was held at Trinity Church Rawdon and we had a busy two days. Year 9s at Benton Park produced some amazing drawings.
Some students from Benton Park visited Yeadon Westfield Infant School where they read with the Year 1 children.
